VOIP message...my phone did NOT ring. A voicemail is received, only! (To me, this is already "phishy", Lol, because what legitimate business needs to do that!
All the message ever says is this..."It is imperative you return this call important business call to Acquired Capital (sp)? at, 855-494-0093". It's ALWAYS the same woman, whom never leaves her name, who she's looking for or what the call is about.
I have news...I'll return your "important business call", lady, when pigs fly! I have half a brain and am not elderly. Your not getting me to pay you any money, or get my personal information, out of this phishing scam!!!
Guy called, said his name was Mr. Rockwell and wanted to speak to a girl that no longer works at this office, which I explained. He then wanted her husband and I told "Rockwell" that her husband never had even worked here. He was hesitant to give a name or call back number, but eventually did.
This phone number is Check Services Recovery in Amherst NY. It is a collection agency. They leave a number to call and then you call and they say nobody by the name who called you works there. They call from different numbers and you call it right back and it says disconnected. These people are very rude and annoying. The one who calls here is Omar Jackson, JOhnson, Thompson or whatever name he is using that day. John in the legal dept. says they are not a collection agency they are an investment firm. Ok. we believe that. right
I didn't get called. I just got debited by them $9.95 probably for a "free" cookbook or some such other thing. Likely a scheme to sign unsuspecting people up for something they don't want and didn't ask for. Bank statement says California, but phone number says to call such and such days/hours "Central" time zone. Curious.
